Last week we had the privelage of hosting Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers at St. Mary Magdalene for our Lenten parish mission! Deacon Harold is a Catholic evangelist who travels around the world speaking to all different types of people about the Catholic faith. He's extremely honest and straighforward in his preaching, and is determined to show people the truth. I loved hearing him speak, especially because I loved his "tell it like it is" attitude and how he portayed his love for his faith and his family.

One of his talks during our mission week was titled "Why Be Catholic?", which got me thinking...why do people love being Catholic? I know I have my top reasons for why I love my faith! The Church has done so much for me and my relationship with Christ. My faith helps me to be true to myself. However we live in a society that can rag on the Catholic Church a lot. Even through all the trials, the Catholic community takes all of the remarks and nasty comments, and continues to stand strong. Why? What are some of the reasons people stay true to their faith? To find out, I decided to ask some of our parishiners: Why do you love being Catholic?
I hope you enjoyed the video! I love getting to hear about why people love their faith. Please feel free to email me and tell me your story! Why you love being Catholic?
